Valley of Our Lady Monastery

Corner Stone Construction provided commercial masonry work for Valley of Our Lady Monastery’s new building project near Hollandale, Wisconsin. The monastery is home to a community of cloistered Cistercian nuns who have dedicated their lives to prayer, work, and the Benedictine tradition.

Masonry for a New Monastic Home

The Valley of Our Lady project involved constructing a permanent monastery complex that will house living spaces, a chapel, guest accommodations, work areas, and support facilities for the community’s daily life and vocation.

On a project of this nature, the exterior materials become part of a structure meant to serve long-term use and reflect the stability and purpose of the place where the sisters live, pray, and work each day.

Scope of Our Commercial Masonry Work

Corner Stone Construction installed exterior masonry components that are integrated into the monastery’s architectural design. Our work was completed in coordination with the design team and general contractor to ensure consistency with the overall project goals.

Our involvement included:

  • Installing masonry on designated exterior wall sections

  • Following architectural detailing aligned with the monastery’s design

  • Coordinating with other crews on site

  • Maintaining safety and quality standards throughout construction

Masonry in a Monastery Setting

The monastery will serve as a home for a community of Cistercian nuns committed to a life of liturgy, prayer, and manual work rooted in tradition.

Exterior masonry in such buildings is experienced differently than in typical commercial settings; the surfaces are seen by residents, guests, and retreat visitors as part of the everyday rhythm of life on campus, and they contribute to a sense of quiet solidity appropriate for contemplative life.

Commercial Masonry Where Purpose Matters

Valley of Our Lady Monastery is more than a building; it supports a community rooted in a centuries-old religious tradition while serving practical needs such as housing, worship, work, and hospitality. The masonry installed as part of this project was selected and placed to contribute to both the function and the enduring presence of the monastery.
